KEEP THE BIG PICTURE IN VIEW

Four ways to communicate good science

The investigation is assessed through research design, data analysis, conclusion and evaluation, each worth up to 6 marks. Your written report has a maximum of 3,000 words.

01 · Research design

Explain the question, context and choices that make your investigation reproducible.

02 · Data analysis

Communicate and process relevant data, considering uncertainty.

03 · Conclusion

Answer using your evidence and compare it with scientific context.

04 · Evaluation

Explain specific limitations and realistic improvements.

This is an independent planning guide. Follow your teacher's guidance and the IB Chemistry guide. Your planning notes are not a finished report; keep source references and use your own analysis.
